Case study

Websites

I rebuild websites for Milwaukee businesses through my company, Richardson Business Ventures. The first one I can show you is our own studio's.

Spire Fitness is the spin and strength studio in the Third Ward that we bought in October 2025. Its site ran on Squarespace, which renewed at $400 a year. I rebuilt it as a site we own, hosted on Cloudflare, and moved the domain over.

Members already knew the old site, so the new one keeps its look: the mural, the type, the coral wave footer. What changed is underneath.

  • A site builder subscription

    A site we own

The pages are plain files built from one content source, so a change is an edit and a rebuild, not a login.

  • Dead and placeholder pages

    Redirects and no broken links

Nine old or broken pages now redirect. A crawl of 74 addresses found no broken links.

Class booking, the schedule and purchases still run through the studio's booking system, embedded in the new pages.

How I rebuild a site

Since October I've built 11 spec sites: free rebuilds of real Milwaukee businesses' websites, made before anyone asked. They stay private until the owner sees them and says otherwise, so I don't show them here. Each one goes through the same steps.

  1. Research before design. Who owns the place, what's changed lately, and who it competes with, written down with sources.
  2. A design from the place itself. The layout starts from something the business actually has, like a score sheet, a menu card or a chalkboard, so it couldn't belong to the place next door.
  3. One moment that moves. A single animated detail, with a still version for people who turn motion off.
  4. Fast on a phone. The target is a mobile Lighthouse score of 90 or better.

How a switch works

Pointing a domain at a new site is where most owners get stuck, so I do it. You do at most one thing: send me an invite to your domain account, or sit with me for about 15 minutes while I drive.

I change only the records for the website, never the ones for email, and I check that your email still works afterward. The web address stays in your name.

$25 to switch, then $99 a month for hosting, changes and upkeep. The preview is free, and you see it before you decide anything.

  • Hours, prices, menus and events written so Google can read them
  • A plain-text summary for AI assistants
  • Fast pages that work on any phone
  • Your old links keep working

Want to see your own site rebuilt?

Send me the address. I'll build a private preview, and you decide after you've seen it.
